Vacaville American Little League

SINGLE A – For League Age 6–7
This entry-level division focuses on basic baseball fundamentals and skill-building. Games are coach-pitch only, making it ideal for players with little or no experience. Teams are seeded by the Player Agent and President after the upper division drafts are complete. The Player Agent will make their best effort to honor one reciprocal buddy request per player.

AA
– For League Age 7–8
This level emphasizes refreshing and building skills. The first half of the season is coach-pitch, while the second half transitions to a combination of kid-pitch and coach-pitch. Players are more familiar with positions, and defensive plays are being made with some consistency. Nine-year-olds not ready for AAA play may remain at this level, with safety being a primary consideration. Teams are seeded by the Player Agent and President after upper division drafts, and one reciprocal buddy request per player will be considered.

AAA
– For League Age 9–10
Players at this level experience faster gameplay and begin learning strategy. This division is kid-pitch only. Teams are formed through a draft run by the Player Agent. All 10-year-olds are drafted; some 9-year-olds who are not drafted will remain at AA to continue developing skills. Eleven-year-olds who are not drafted to Majors, or for whom safety is a concern, may remain at AAA. In some cases, skilled 8-year-olds may play up, as an exception, if appropriate for skills and safety.

MAJORS
– For League Age 11–12
This division features higher skill levels, faster play, and consistent pitching. Strategy becomes an integral part of the game. Teams are drafted, with all 12-year-olds guaranteed a spot. Some 11-year-olds not drafted to this level may remain at AAA to develop further. In exceptional cases, 10-year-olds may play up if skills and safety allow.

50/70 (INTERMEDIATE)
– For League Age 13
Fields are larger with greater base and pitching distances, increasing skill and strategic play. League Age 12 players may play up as an exception if skills and safety allow. If enough players register for two teams, a draft will determine team placement. Teams are capped at 14 players. A waitlist may occur if registration supports one team but not two full teams, with placement based on registration date and no guaranteed playtime.

JUNIORS
– For League Age 14
This division uses the largest fields in Little League, with distances matching high school and Minor/Major League standards. Skill and strategic play are at the highest level. League Age 13 players may play up as an exception if skills and safety allow. If enough players register for two teams, a draft will determine placement. Teams are capped at 14 players. A waitlist may occur if registration supports one team but not two, based on registration date, with no guaranteed playtime.
